Orangenhaut

Definition

An acute, diffuse, suppurative inflammation of loose connective tissue, particularly the deep subcutaneous tissues, and sometimes muscle. It occurs most commonly as a result of infection of a wound, ulcer, or other skin lesion by various bacteria, but may also occur in previously normal skin especially in the presence of oedema of lymphatic, renal, or hypostatic origin.
