definition
Superficial infection of axillary and pubic hairs that results in adherent yellow, black or red concretions surrounding the hair shaft. Gram-positive Corynebacteria are causative for this condition. The usually asymptomatic infection occurs in both temperate and tropical climates and is not limited by race or sex.
