Sarcoidosis, Small Nodular Type

definition

Skin manifestation of sarcoidosis characterized by yellowish-brown papules that vary in size from 1 to 5 mm and particularly affect the face and the extensor aspects of the limbs. The papules later become brownish-red or violaceous and often leave a pale or telangiectatic scar when they disappear. The small nodular type carries a more favourable prognosis than do other types of infiltration.
