Angiokeratoma Acroasphycticum Digitorum

definition

Vascular disorder characterized by minute red macules which slowly increase in size and become elevated, warty and darker in colour. Lesions occur over the bony prominences of the extremities of children, predominantly girls, during late childhood or early adolescence. They are frequently associated with acrocyanosis and chilblains. This condition is probably transmitted as an autosomal dominant trait with highly variable penetrance.
