definitionDermatophyte infection of the skin of the hand, most commonly caused by T. rubrum, T. mentagrophytes and E. floccosum. In most cases there is pre-existing foot infection. Clinical manifestations range from diffuse hyperkeratosis of the palms and fingers and accentuation of the flexural creases to inflammatory vesicular reactions.
