Lichen Planus Atrophicans

definition

Variant of lichen planus characterized by few lesions occurring most likely on the lower legs. The whitish or bluish, atrophic macules show loss of hair and openings of the hair follicles. The atrophy may be the result of resolved annular or hypertrophic lesions. The histology allows lichen sclerosus to be excluded.
