definitionBehcet's syndrome is a rare chronic relapsing inflammatory disorder characterized by inflammation of the eyes and ulcers of the mouth and genitals. The cause is unknown. Symptoms include areas of abnormal skin changes (ulcers or lesions) of the mouth and genitalia that tend to recur spontaneously. Other systems of the body may also be affected including the joints, blood vessels, central nervous system, and/or digestive tract. (NORD/G.
