Small-Vesicle Impetigo Contagiosa

definition

Contagious superficial infection of the skin due to streptococci, staphylococci, or both. It is characterized by superficial vesicular lesions that later become pustular and then crusted, the resultant crusts being often honey-coloured. Lesions predominantly occur on the face, arms and legs of infants and children.
